Core Competencies

Well I was previously in the job market, but I recently accepted a position with Vocollect. However I figured it would be good to leave this page active anyway. Below are 10 of my professional core competencies. In my own humble opinion, I am:

1. …skilled and competent in a wide variety of areas and settings. I am comfortable with technology and great with people.
2. …committed to respecting all people, regardless of job title, personal background or circumstances, and personal benefit to myself.
3. …a natural helper and collaborator; I love to work with others to help them, and the organization, accomplish things.
4. …focused on problem solving; I do not allow myself to get bogged down with issues that do not have an end-goal or that do not contribute to resolving problems that arise.
5. …formally educated and academically above average (graduated in top 10% of high school class of 380 students; earned an AS degree in Electronics Technology with a 3.75 GPA; earned a BA in Liberal Arts {minor in Business} with a 3.25 GPA, and currently maintaining a 3.5 GPA in my MBA program).
6. …a competent and versatile writer who has been complemented and recommended several times due to my writing and editing skills (see below).
7. …adaptable and easily trainable. I am self taught in the majority of computer programs and competencies that I know, and have become skilled enough in them in almost every instance to the point where I can train others. I also focus on workplace and worker efficiency and continuously look at workflow process to identify issues and potential problem, and then formulate solutions.
8. …able to offer a diverse perspective; due to my personal background with living and traveling significantly (both domestically and abroad), as well as my experience living as an ethnic and religious minority in the U.S.
9. …socially and technologically savvy; I keep abreast on new developments in electronics, marketing, web design and social trends on a regular basis.
10. …highly ethical; I firmly believe in personal and professional accountability. I’m also committed to doing my part to contribute to the community at large.
