5 Customer Service Lessons I Learned From Being A Waitress
My new job as a customer service representative (which sounds menial, but really isn’t) has shifted my professional views a teeny-tiny bit. What is interesting is how many of my peers pity me a bit for having to deal with “the customers” so much. I on the other hand am not deterred by it at all. Yes, we sell a product, but it is the experience (service, relationship, etc.) with us that makes us noteworthy. [...]

Esther was not the scariest thing in “The Orphan”
I’m really not into horror movies…especially the new ones. To me, being afraid, startled and disgusted isn’t really my idea of good entertainment. However my BF loves them…so for him, I’ll indulge. A couple of nights back, we opted to watch “The Orphan”; a horror movie that actually caught my eye due to the villain’s Jewish name (though she wasn’t Jewish at all it turns out) and the twisted premise of a child being a [...]

Designer Digs – Why Buy?
As a present, my wonderful BF brought a new Coach purse for me. I’ve never considered myself a fashionista, nor do I care so much about impressing people (via whatever happens to impress them). However when we first started dating, my BF noticed that I was admiring some Coach purses in Macy’s (where he eventually brought my purse). When he first mentioned that he wanted to buy one for me, I scoffed. But after taking [...]

10 Pitfalls About Interracial Relationships
I should start off with an apology at the negative tone of this post’s title; but I believe that people should know the negatives upfront, get past them (if they want to) and then go on to pursue their dreams. I love sharing my experiences and opinions with others (hence why I’m a blogger). Dating interracially is one of the topics I have no issues talking about. However, in the past 24 hours, I was [...]

Unexpected Love For The Unexpecting
Without a doubt, I’ll be referring to my BF (boyfriend) in this blog; so I figured I would dedicate a post to him. In some ways I think it’s premature, but in other ways, I do feel like I should introduce him. First of all, I have no issues admitting that before meeting my BF, I would have never thought things could have worked out between us. Not on paper anyway. The fact that he [...]

It’s Not Tax Season, But….
My BF recently got approved for food stamps. I’m very excited for him, because he struggles so much financially, and any type of help is such a blessing. In spite of what the naysayers (especially on City-Data) say, food stamps, welfare, and other social service programs are not some sort of noose around the taxpayers’ necks. Tweet This Post
