How To Add Jewish Holidays To Your Proton Calendar
So first things first – what is Proton mail? Well Proton is a suite of apps that can serve as an alternative to Google Workspace. They are based in Switzerland and have a much more security-centered approach. They do not sell data for profit.
Another reason why you may want to consider using Proton is to have a clear separation of of your business work. For me personally, I have my personal Gmail account (which I had for many years; I was one of the first 1,000 people to open a Gmail account) and my work Gmail account. So for my consultant (which may grow into a legit stand-alone business one day; remains to be seen!) — I want a clear, distinct ecosystem for that.
It is important to note a few things though:
- There is a charge for Proton. I pay $4.99/month. I think there used to be a free option, but it doesn’t allow for things like mail forwarding and using your own domain. So I have no real use for that really
- It isn’t a full-replacement for Google Workspace. For now, the suite only has the following apps:
- Authenticator
- Password Manager
- Word processing
- AI generator
- Calendar
- Online storage drive
- VPN
- Videoconferencing
So you’ll have to find another option for spreadsheets, presentation, etc.
