Totally by accident! I earned my MBA in marketing back in 2012. I was working in real estate as a marketer and then got a couple of government roles as an office administrator and a fiscal specialist. Then I founded my own business. Entrepreneurship was a fantastic bootcamp for operations. A newly launched nonprofit needed my skillset and hired me full-time. I did work very closely with the Operations Manager at my previous position though.
Yes I am really Jewish. I was not born that way though and my conversion journey took quite a few years. However, it is impolite to remind a convert to Judaism about their past. I personally do not share too much about my story. As a Black Jew I am subject to the exact same racism that any other Black American experiences. Then on top of that I often have to deal with antisemitism — whether people know that I am Jewish or not. It is difficult, but I do not regret anything. I am living the life that the Creator has intended for me to live.
It depends on the type of work, but my baseline rate is $100/hr
Cleveland came up on my radar when I was a single mother looking for better (Jewish) educational options for my children. The cost of living and quality of life was within my expectations. And it is not too far from my family in Pittsburgh, PA. I set the plan in motion to move in Spring of 2024. I met my husband in the Summer of 2024. He had no issues putting Alabama in his rearview and for him ‘home’ is anywhere his family is.
